Base Jam adalah grup band anak muda yang terbentuk pada 15 Januari 1994. Formasi Personel mereka semula terdiri atas Adon Saptowo (Vokal), Sigit Wardana (Vokal), Adnil Faisal (Gitar), Ardi "Aris" Isnandar (Gitar), Bambang "BS" Sutanto (Drum), Intan "Anya" Putri Werdiniadi (Keyboard) dan Ardhini "Sita" Citrasari (Bass).

Semua berawal dari acara tujuh Belasan!! Kakak beradik, Aris (gitar) dan Sita (bas) serta sepupu mereka, Enya (gitar), dan Sigit (vocal), semuanya anak karyawan PT. Jasa Marga, ditawari untuk tampil di acara Tujuh Belasan yang diadakan kantor Jasa Marga di bulan Juli 1993.

Sayangnya pada pertengahan 1994, Enya dan Arif mengundurkan diri. Untuk mengisi kekosongan ini, dipilihlah Adnil (adik kandung Arif) sebagai pemain gitar. Dengan formasi ini, Base Jam kembali berprestasi. Mereka terpilih sebagai Juara Umum Band di acara grand Final kompetisi musik serupa. Sejak saat itulah, Base Jam mulai sering mengisi acara di sekolah, kampus, kafe, serta acara radio.

Layaknya band-band lain, ketujuh pemuda ini mencoba untuk membuat lagu sendiri. Ayah Sita yang kebetulan mengenal Harry Sabar, mengantarkan mereka "belajar" padanya. Dengan bantuan musisi senior tersebut, band ini sukses menciptakan empat lagu dan merekamnya dalam bentuk demo. Tahun 1995, PT Musica Studio's tertarik dengan materi lagu demo tersebut dan mengajukan kontrak kerja sama sebanyak empat album. Album perdana mereka, Bermimpi pun sukses dirilis di pertengahan tahun 1996. Nama Base Jam langsung diperhitungkan sebagai band pendatang baru paling sukses tahun itu.
