Ponniyin Selvan is a famous Tamil historical novel written by Amar Kalki (1899-1954). Published as a serial in Kalki Weekly Magazine from 1950 - 1955. Due to the popular support for the novel, Kalki magazine continued to publish the same novel at various times. It has also been published as a stand-alone book and has seen several editions.
