The selection of forget me not flower for “Remember 1915” application was not a coincidence as it is the representation of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and was considered a symbol of God`s presence in the Middle Ages. The forget-me-not symbol has five petals, each petal representing the five continents where Armenians settles after the Genocide. The color black signifies horror and the memories of the Genocide, yellow connotes sunlight and the inner radial light, purple represents recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide and the predominant purple exemplifies Armenians’ self-consciousness.
