Popular Rally - 2019 description

The 25th Popular Rally, Kerala’s iconic motorsport, kicks off in December 2019. Started in 1983, it became part of the Indian National Rally Championship in 1988. The 24 earlier editions of the Rally have traversed through twisted and rugged surfaces in scenic locales of Kerala. Challenges of a tarmac rally, a characteristic of Popular Rally, attract top drivers every year. Today, motorsport is synonymous with Popular Rally in Kerala. The 25th Popular Rally decides the INRC Champion 2019, since it is the 5th and last leg of the Championship, approved by FMSCI. The flag off is on December 19th 2019 at Hotel Windsor Castle, Kottayam. The speed stages of the Rally take place in and around Kanjirapally, Poovar and Thidanad towns in Kottayam district on 21st and 22nd. Prize distribution is on the 22nd at Windsor Castle. Organized by Popular Vehicles & Services, the Rally is run by Southern Adventures & Motorsports. Popular counts among the largest dealers of Maruti and it is the only dealer to own a car rally in India.
