Pit Stop Car Wash description

Founded in 1957, Pit Stop Carwash began as a hand carwash in South Philadelphia.
In 1970, 820 Cottman Avenue was developed from the ground up into a brand new location in Foxchase/Burholme, Philadelphia. We opened as a modern, exterior, fully automatic carwash. In 1977 two self-serve bays were added and the building length was increased by 45 feet. In 1988 the entire property was renovated adding 5 self-service carwash bays, a complete detail shop and the exterior carwash was converted to full service ( inside and out), with an accessory store - tripling the size of the original building.

Now our valued customers can enjoy stepping out of their car while it gets thoroughly vacuumed, stroll leisurely down the hallway watching as it’s gently washed by the most state-of-the art car washing equipment. At the end, the car’s proud owner steps into a vehicle that is totally dry, with dashboard wiped down, windows cleaned inside and out, door jamb shining and takes back the keys to a thoroughly immaculate vehicle. All this in the most environmentally friendly way possible. All of our detergents and shampoos are biodegradable. Water conservation and waste disposal is a top priority. We believe in our customer and in our environment.

We are still family owned and operated by the same family - three generations later.
