Salah satu Novel Fenomenal yang sangat menginspirasi karya dari Bpk. Andrea Hinata yaiitu "Laskar Pelangi" yang menceritakan Kisah dari 10 anak yang tinggal di desa Gantung di kabupaten Gantung Belitung timur.

Mereka bersekolah di sebuah SD yang bernama SD Muhamadiyah yang bangunannya nyaris hampir roboh karena sudah tua dan seperti tidak terurus karena kurangnya fasilitas yang masuk di sekolah tersebut.

Sekolah itu nyaris oleh Departemen Pendidikan Kabupaten Sumatera Selatan , karena murid yang bersekolah di SD Muhammadiyah tersebut tidak berjumlah 10 anak sebagai persyaratan minimal. Ketika itu baru 9 anak yang menghadiri upacara pembukaan. Kesembilan anak tersebut adalah Ikal, Lintang, Mahar, Sahara, A Kiong, Syahdan, Kucai, Borek, dan Trapani. Akan tetapi, tepat ketika Pak Harfan Efendy Noor (Kepala Sekolah SD Muhammadiyah) hendak berpidato untuk menutup SD Muhammadiyah. Ada seorang ibu beserta anaknya yang bernama Harun datang untuk mendaftarkan Harun ke sekolah SD Muhammadiyah tersebut. Jika tidak ada Harun, seorang anak berusia 15 tahun dengan keterbelakangan mental yang disekolahkan ibunya agar tidak cuma bisa mengejar anak ayam di rumah, tentu tidak pernah terjadi kisah ini. Akhirnya SD Muhammadiyah tersebut tidak jadi ditutup dan Harun lah yang menyelamatkan SD Muhammadiyah tersebut.
