MagicMeasure description

MagicMeasure is your new digital tape measure

Take a picture using MagicMeasure, then simply touch objects on the picture to see their dimensions appear! MagicMeasure measures distances, surfaces & volumes of any object on walls or floors.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
---------------------------

This is a special version of MagicMeasure taking advantage of the unique sensor capabilities of Tango devices
You will first need to proceed to a “Depth Camera” calibration (this calibration is really important as we have noticed up to 4% of error on the depth of Mantis cameras)

Depth Camera Calibration Procedure:

1 - choose a nice, white and big wall with nothing on it
2 - put two tape markers on a horizontal line at around 1.7 meters from the ground and distant one to the other of 1 meter
3 - go to the settings of MagicMeasure ("gear" button on the top-left corner)
4 - in the "Markers distance" field, put the distance you have between the two markers (one meter if you followed previous indications - this distance must have been precisely measured)
5 - press the "Depth Camera Calibration" to start the calibration
CAUTION: for the first seconds and until the orange shoot button appears, please hold the device horizontally to let Tango do its initialization properly
6 - you will now capture 4 times a picture containing the two markers, starting from a position as close as possible to the wall and then one step back at each time
7 - once the 4 pictures are taken, you will be asked to place the green handles where the markers are. Try to be as accurate as possible in the positioning
8 - when the handles for all 4 pictures are placed, you are done.
9 - please check the procedure went well by taking a picture of the 2 markers, do a wall measure between the 2 markers

Once this procedure is done, MagicMeasure is ready for measuring.
