Kaamatan (Harvest Festival) is a colourful festival celebrated by the Kadazan and Dusun communities throughout the State of Sabah, Malaysia. It is a celebration of thanksgiving to the Bambaazon or
the spirit of paddy for a bountiful harvest. Kaamatan is celebrated the whole month of May. During the Kaamatan season merry making activities such as dancing, feasting, drinking and playing cultural
games are abundantly held. Many other fun activities can be seen and participated, but the much awaited event will be the crowning of the fairest maiden as the Festival Beauty Queen called Huminodun.
