Gin Rummy rules:
- Each player of the card game receives 10 cards from the deck, and the rest of the cards form the stock
- The upper card of the stock is placed face up and forms a discard pile
- Players take a card either from the stock or discard pile, folding one of their cards in return
- The main goal of classic gin rummy is to collect runs and sets
- A run consists of at least 3 cards of the same suit in consecutive order
- A set represents 3 or 4 cards of the same rank
- A gin is formed when all 10 cards are part of runs or sets. The same card cannot belong to both run and set, so you should only use it once, either in a run or set in this card game
- Number cards are worth their face value, aces are worth 1 point, and face cards - 10 points
- The round continues until one of the players knocks when they have already collected a few runs or sets in a rummy and have only a few cards not belonging to any combinations (called deadwood)
- After knocking, points are calculated for both players, and the gin rummy match continues until one of the players receives 100 points
