Drill.City.Films description

With the help of Drill.City.Films program you will learn to understand the live speech of native speakers and effortlessly enrich your foreign vocabulary.

The program plays clips from movies in a special training mode, which helps to learn foreign languages with little effort.

Each clip is played a few times - in Russian and English (or Polish), with subtitles and without them. Clicking on the words of foreign subtitles you can see translations and examples of use.

Learning languages with Drill.City.Films does not require any actions from the user. However, if you want to watch and to listen to a fragment again or you want to skip any of the fragments without listening it in Russian, you can press a button at the bottom of the screen.

You can test the program free of charge for three days. After that, you can continue using it for free by inviting your friends or you can pay.

Drill.City.Films uses clips from movies, taken from Public Domain as well from other movies, based on the principles of Fair Use.

Drill.City.Films provides the principles of Fair Use in the following ways:

1. The purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes.

The use of content is “transformative” as every fragment is played a few times - with subtitles and without them, at different speeds, in different languages. The fragments from movies are used only for the learning process. The movie clips do not need to be paid for.

2. The amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole.

The fragments last for a few seconds. The total length of all the fragments from the same movie in one lesson is up to 5 minutes.

3. The effect of the use upon the potential market for, or value of, the copyrighted work.

Learning foreign languages with Drill.City.Films does not replace the regular watching of the movies with entertainment purposes in any way and does not compete with movie distribution channels.
