La historia se sitúa en el futuro cercano. La ciudad de Los Ángeles está ocupada por alienígenas y cercada por un gran muro. Algunos colaboran con el nuevo régimen, otros se rebelan y sufren las consecuencias. En medio de esta situación, una familia intenta mantenerse unida mientras que la raza humana lucha por sobrevivir.

La familia está formada por Will Bowman (Josh Holloway, de Lost, Intelligence), un exagente del FBI que se ve forzado a colaborar con el gobierno. Su misión es acabar con el movimiento de resistencia. Will está casado con Katie (Sarah Wayne Callies, de The Walking Dead), con quien tiene tres hijos. Uno de ellos es Bram (Alex Neustaedter), un niño que se ve obligado a dejar rápidamente la infancia para convertirse en adulto.

The story is set in the near future. The city of Los Angeles is occupied by aliens and surrounded by a large wall. Some collaborate with the new regime, others rebel and suffer the consequences. Amid this situation, a family trying to stay together while the human race struggles to survive.
