Boston's Safest Driver description

Boston’s Safest Driver makes it fun and rewarding to be a better driver.

Now’s your chance to show off your driving skills and compete for prizes! The Boston’s Safest Driver Competition allows participants to challenge their friends, see how they rank in their community, and win prizes for improvement each week. The competition is brought to you by the City of Boston, Mayor Martin J. Walsh, The Mayor’s Office of New Urban Mechanics and Vision Zero Task Force, in partnership with Cambridge Mobile Telematics and the Arbella Insurance Foundation. For more information, please visit http://www.boston.gov/safestdriver.

Boston's Safest Driver automatically detects when driving starts and stops, and uses the phone’s sensors to measure driving quality including acceleration, braking, cornering, speeding and phone distraction. The application logs your driving trips, displays mapped routes of your drives and displays details on maneuvers giving you useful feedback to help you become a better driver. In addition, it provides driving tips and allows you to invite friends to your leaderboard to compete for top rankings.

The competition is for legal residents of the 101 cities and towns that make up the Metro Boston area and who are at least 18 years of age or older. To verify eligibility, you will need to enter your participating zip code on the registration page. For complete contest rules or to check if you are eligible to enter or to win, please visit our website:
