Baton allows teachers to intelligently orchestrate the participation in their classrooms, allowing for a strategic class-flow, as opposed to a chance-driven one.

With Baton, students don't only indicate their desire to participate, but moreover, their reason for participating; whether it be asking a question, raising a new idea, building on someone else, or challenging an existing idea or point, teacher will know why they want to participate before actually calling on them.

Baton also shows teacher how many times a student has participated, ensuring that teacher do not overly rely on the same students, nor miss some of the quieter ones.

And last but not least, using colour gradation, Baton's ambient display relates how long a student has been waiting to participate, ensuring that student don't checkout due to excessive participation wait-times.
