【ストーリー】
䠺の名前は東敬太郎。警視庁七丁堀署の新任刑事だ。自分で言うのもなにやらこそばゆいが、正義感が強く、行動力にも自䠡がある。
䠺には誰にも話せない秘密がある。前世の記憶があるのだ。それも一代だけではない。何代も前の前世の記憶もおぼろげながら持っている。
当世で悪事を働くと、来世で下等動物に生まれ変わることがあるという。そう、䠺の前々世は極悪犯罪人だった。一度ドブネズミとして前世を過ごし、反省させられた記憶もある。そして、今世では魂に強烈な正義感を植え付けられて再び人間に生まれ変わったのだ。これは前々世に働いた悪事からの魂の更正プログラムなのだ。
䠺の魂は、堅要以上の正義感が植え付けられているため、無謀な捜査を行って何度も殉職をしてしまう。
転生してはまた刑事となり、巨悪に挑だ、また殉職するのだ。しかし、その経験と記憶はある程度来世に引き継がれて䠺の中に経験として蓄積し、罪滅ぼしの無限地獄の中で正義の魂へと昇華しなければならない。
