DBA Bhagalpur description

The Bar Association at Bhagalpur was established on the 27th May 1881 with 19 lawyers. The district bar association Bhagalpur ,which is duly registered under the Bihar Bar council constituted under section 3 of the advocate Act 1961.At present there are more than 6,000 Advocates on the rolls District Bar Association Bhagalpur. The important function of Bar Council is to admit persons on its Roll as Advocates so as to grant them permission to practice law.
The member of District bar association Bhagalpur is selected from election mechanism. The election to the District bar association Bhagalpur is conducted in accordance with system of proportional representative by means of single transferable vote from amongst Advocates on the Electoral of the State Bar Council. The counting involves elimination by preferential voting basis and the 32 members securing highest votes in order to get elected to the office for a period of 2 years.
