Wood Strength Calculator description

This application is an add-on application for Golden Retriever, or as we like to refer to them, a puppy :)

You will need to have an activated installation of Golden Retriever on your device to for this puppy to work.

The Golden Retriever wood strength puppy allows you to add the "StrengthCalc" field to your testing dictionarys in Golden Retriever. When the user clicks on the StrengthCalc field the wood strength puppy is brought up. The puppy will be auto-filled with any already entered information in Golden Retriever but the user is also able to change any of the information as they see fit. The user can then enter the dimensions of any external and/or internal rot they have found on the pole and receive the percent remaining of section modulus, moment of inertia and area.

If the user has filled in all the required ANSI information they will also be given results for the percent remaining of section modulus, moment of inertia and area based on the ANSI 05.1 minimum dimensions (with the assumption of a linear taper).

When the user clicks "OK" they are brought back to Golden Retriever where the StrengthCalc field has been filled in with the results of their calculations and the "Comments" field has been appended with all the information the user entered to get their results. Thus allowing someone at a later time to run the same calculation in Golden Retriever or another analytic tool.
