Phuket is one of the southern provinces of Thailand.
Phuket International Airport is in the north of the island.
There is no rail line to Phuket. Songthaews are a common mode of transport on Phuket. There are also conventional bus services and motorbike taxis. Traditional tuk-tuks have been replaced by small vans. Car taxis are quite expensive and charge flat rates between towns.
