Percival’s Spelling School allows your child to practise spellings in entertaining ways.

At the core of Percival's Spelling School are ten games that your child will find fun to play, and which will enable them to see spelling patterns repeatedly so that they can remember them easily and quickly.

It focuses on spelling patterns that your child will come across a lot in school, and in life. If you are looking for a way to help your child to pass spelling tests, Percival’s Spelling School will be a huge help - and great entertainment too!

A wide variety of games are used to help your child learn their spellings, from hangman to card match, wordsearches to hilo. Your child will think they are just playing games but you know that they are learning key spellings and enjoying themselves at the same time!

Your child can play an individual game or challenges of four, six or eight games. There are high score tables so that they can see how much they are improving and compare their performance with that of their family and friends!

Percival’s Spelling School focuses on spelling patterns such as:

-cian, -tion and -sion endings
-ough- and -augh-
-eous and -ious ending
-ol, -al, -il and -el endings

...and many more! These are tricky spelling patterns that your child needs to see over and over again to remember them. What better way to do this than by playing games and having fun? The cartoon graphics and simple images are ideal for children of all ages and the games are simple enough for children of any age to enjoy.

The Professor doesn’t leave your child to learn the spellings by themselves. Each of the spelling patterns has its own “brain sync”. During these, the Professor explains ways your child can learn each spelling pattern. They can also choose to have a “brain build” where the Professor shows them some words they could use - perfect for ensuring the words all go in your child’s head.

The Professor also makes sure that the challenge of the games is increased by making your child use longer words to complete the games. This is great for improving your child’s vocabulary, especially since the Professor reads out the most complicated words and explains what they mean until your child is used to spelling them!
