Important note to kirtaneers:
1) Kirtan is an extension of our sadhana to share the devotion towards Holy names of the Lord with others.
2) For doing this well, we must be chanting 16 rounds daily and follow the four regulative principles to increase our purity, mercy, austerity and turthfulness (the four legs of Dharma).
3) The more the purity in us, the more our kirtans will have effect in the audience.

NEVER do Kirtan for instant gratification of subtle body ego (pratishtha-asha) or for making a crowd happy. This is very dangerous, but many kirtaneers fall into this trap without realizing it. This will be counter productive for your sadhana and for others attending the kirtan. Kirtan should only be done in a proper mood of submissiveness and devotion towards the Lord.
