How to Draw : Manga Bodies description

Drawing the human body has many approaches, especially in anime drawings or manga drawing where there are many different types of anime body that come in all shapes and sizes, so how to learn drawing anime body? This application will give you tutorial of easy anime drawings for a beginner.

As a beginner learning to draw manga body, basic human anatomy references will help you. While there are some differences between manga body and the human body, certain rules remain the same. The arms, thighs, legs and other body parts should look proportionate on your character. If you have problems with this, this application will help you because once you have the corrected proportions of anime body you’ll see your drawings start to look better.

I believe you should first learn how to draw anime body from a standing front pose to see the basic proportions. Once you master this pose, it will make drawing anime bodies from different angles easier later on as you’ll have an idea of what lengths and sizes each body parts should be.

That is three different body positions that you will be drawing today. You can choose to draw all three, or you can pick one out of the bunch. Start with three circle shapes for your body manga that you will be drawing and add the facial guidelines. Next draw the torso shapes for all poses you see here. Once that is done you will then draw a connecting line that comes from the torso, to the hips or pelvic area that you will draw next. Lastly draw all the limb guidelines as well as the shapes for the hands and feet.

When drawing anime characters, the right proportions are important. You are about 7.5 heads tall. Manga action heroes tend to have more elongated proportions, at least 8 heads tall, often taller. The comparatively small head heightens the dramatic effect of a low viewpoint in the towering ‘hero’ stance. This is a very different look to the big-headed style of cartoon.

Otherwise, body proportions are pretty much standard: your shoulder to your elbow is roughly the same length as your elbow to your wrist. The same goes for the hip to the knee and knee to the ankle. I generally like to begin the wireframe figure by placing (not finishing) the head, then going into the rest of the wireframe, because the head usually guides the body.

Proportion for manga girl body is about 6 or 7 heads tall, and Proportion for manga boy body is about 7 heads tall. Drawing anime guy is drawn a bit differently than manga girl drawing. He has some features that define his masculinity like more muscles, less curves, bigger hands etc. However, don’t draw half of him lopsided looking. The proportions of each body parts should equally make sense. So always keep that in mind when you draw anime guys.
