Sobre el Festival:
Folklore en el Agua tuvo su origen a finales de la década del 60, de la mano de un puñado de entusiastas vecinos que impulsaron con orgullo y mucho amor a su tierra.
El “Bicho” Ferreyra, seguidor y fanático de todo lo folklórico, quiso siempre compartir ese gusto con sus amigos e introducir a todos aquellos que se interesaban por lo mismo, así fue que comenzó a hacer reuniones en su casa allá por los años 40, fundando la peña "El Ceibo", que mensualmente recorría la casa del grupo de amigos. El interés creció tanto que “Don Bicho” construye el rancho “Jirón Gaucho”; testigo ilustre de largas reuniones con, los que serían décadas siguientes, los máximos exponentes y referentes de la historia de folclore nacional, como Don Atahualpa Yupanqui, los Quilla Huasi, los Chalchaleros, los Tucu-Tucu, Horacio Guarany, Los Visconti, entre otros.
Fue así que en 1968, luego de participar de una presentación en una ciudad vecina junto a su entrañable amigo Enrique Manzotti y su hijo David, Don Bicho Ferrreyra exclamó: -A Villa del Rosario le falta un festival!!! -idea que a Enrique Manzotti lo inquietó y le espondió:-Viejo, vamos a hacerlo!!!-.
Al llegar al pueblo, de madrugada comenzaron a recorrer las calles para definir el lugar. Primero pensaron en la plaza (como el Festival de Cosquín), pero lo desestimaron pensando en las molestias que podrían ocasionarles a los vecinos. Transitaron hasta el río y ahí mismo se les ocurrió ese lugar, a la mañana siguiente, el 12 de octubre 1968, ya estaban colocando las estacas marcando el espacio preciso.
Durante la intendencia del Sr. Emilio Acevedo, se conformó una comisión de Turismo Municipal, con el objetivo de apuntalar la efervescencia y empuje de los vecinos entusiasmados ante la idea de tener el primer festival.
Las dudas relacionadas a los aspectos económicos fueron despejadas cuando la firma Lucchesi Hnos. ofreció el aval económico para el evento, lo que permitió que la primera edición se concretara finalmente en Enero de 1969, en un escenario enclavado sobre el Río Xanaes.
Las letras, la música, la danza y el canto autóctonos en su conjunto, entusiasmó a los jóvenes, quienes son fervor se constituyeron en excelentes cultores de las distintas disciplinas, sosteniendo una historia ininterrumpida de más de cuatro décadas de nuestros querido Festival.
Desde su origen como pueblo, pasando por su consolidación como ciudad y llegando hasta nuestros tiempos, Villa del Rosario honra los lazos de amistad y solidaridad enfrentando cada desafío en comunidad, confiando en la fortaleza que cada vecino puede aportar, convencidos de que el bien común es la principal herramienta que existe para transitar el camino de la historia de Córdoba y la Argentina.

About the Festival:
Folklore in Water originated in the late 60s, the hand of a handful of enthusiastic neighbors who drove proudly and love to their land.
The "Bug" Ferreyra, follower and fan of all folk, always wanted to share that pleasure with friends and introduce all those who are interested in the same thing, so it was that started making meetings in his home back in the 40s, founding the club "El Ceibo" which ran monthly house group of friends. The interest grew so much that "Don Bicho" builds "Jiron Gaucho" rancho; illustrious witness of long meetings, which would be following decades, exponents and referents of the history of national folklore, as Don Atahualpa Yupanqui, the Huasi Keel, the Chalchaleros, the Tucu-Tucu, Horacio Guarany, Los Visconti, among others .
So it was in 1968, after participating in a presentation in a neighboring town with his close friend Henry Manzotti and his son David, Don Bicho Ferrreyra exclaimed: -A Villa del Rosario lacks a festival !!! Henry Manzotti idea which disturbed him and he espondió: Old man, let's do it !!! -.
On reaching the village at dawn began to walk the streets to define the place. First they thought of the square (as the Festival of Cosquín), but they rejected thinking about the inconvenience that might cause them to neighbors. They journeyed to the river and right there they came there, the next morning, October 12, 1968, were already putting the stakes marking the precise space.
During the quartermaster Mr. Emilio Acevedo, Municipal Tourism commission was formed with the aim of shoring up the excitement and drive of the neighboring excited at the idea of having the first festival.
Doubts related to economic aspects were cleared when the firm Lucchesi Brothers. Offered the financial guarantee for the event, which allowed the first edition was finally materialize in January 1969 in Rio Xanaes nestled on stage.
Lyrics, music, dance and singing native whole, enthusiastic young people who are fervently were formed in excellent practitioners of different disciplines, maintaining an unbroken history of more than four decades of our beloved Festival.
From its origins as a people, through its consolidation as a city and reaching our times, Villa del Rosario honor the bonds of friendship and solidarity to face every challenge in community, relying on the strength that each neighbor can bring, convinced that the common good is the main tool available to walk the path of the history of Córdoba and Argentina.
