Air Ticket Arena is the first fully automated platform, which matches unsold seats on scheduled flights with air travellers actively looking to travel on short notice.

Here's how it works:

1. Airlines set the % of seats they want to sell (the ‘load factor’), 24 and 48 hours before departure. In addition, they define how much they will accept for unsold seats. This dictates the amount of seats up for grabs, and for when and at what price. Airlines use the ATA Control Panel to set those parameters.

2. Air travellers place a bid for seats via the Air Ticket Area mobile app. Travellers select a destination, airline, departure/return date, and their budget. This could be 14 days in advance for a one-way flight, and another 14 days for the return flight.

3. When seats become available at a price and time acceptable to the airline and passenger, the booking is done automatically.

4. E-tickets are sent directly to the passenger, and then their journey can start.
